AGM & Board Elections

Cricket Southern Bayside's AGM was held on Wednesday 9th August at Bentleigh RSL. CSB reported on a successful first season, acknowledging the support of the clubs, sponsors and volunteers. Under the terms of the constitution a number of members of the first board were unable to stand for re-election having executive positions at their club.

Chairman Rod Kimmitt thanked outgoing Directors in Satbir Singh, Andrew Kahofer, Sven Samild and Campbell McLeod for their outstanding contributions to the development of CSB through originally the Working Parties and the first board. Rod Kimmitt, Paul Glew, Andrew Lasky and Graeme Cunnington were returned unopposed with Penny Callaghan becoming CSB’s newest board member.

With a terrific background in community and professional sport, Penny is the Junior Co-Coordinator at the Carnegie Cricket Club and has previously held the role of Treasurer at the Caulfield Bears Junior Football Club. Professional roles have been in leadership and management of operational and finance functions across the major event, engineering, health and banking sectors. Penny is a current member of the Point Leo Surf Life Saving Club and is theGeneral Manager – Financial Services for Life Saving Victoria. We are delighted to have Penny join the CSB Board.

Women's Cricket

Following responses to the expressions of interest sent out by CSB and SECA, a club forum is being held on Monday 14th August at 7:00pm at the Bentleigh RSL. Clubs that have indicated they could field a side this season have been invited to the forum.

The forum will focus on development of a women’s cricket advisory group, confirmation of participation numbers and the roll out of a competition across this summer.

If you have not already expressed interest in entering a women’s team this summer, you can do so by attending the upcoming meeting.

Please contact Cricket Southern Bayside if you wish to be involved in any discussion around women’s cricket.
