Welcoming Moorabbin and Mt Waverley Cricket Clubs to CSB


Cricket Southern Bayside is pleased to welcome both the Moorabbin and Mt Waverley Cricket Clubs to the competition this season. Both clubs are fielding 5th XI’s which will play in the Sunday one day competitions, with Mt Waverley in Sunday Division One and Moorabbin in Sunday Division Two.

With the addition of Moorabbin, Mt Waverley and Aspendale the number of new clubs in CSB this season rises to 3, and the number of new teams rising by a total of 10 with a Division 6 added for the coming season.

Fixtures released

Cricket Southern Bayside fixtures for season 2017/18 have been released today.

Highlights include the White Ball final on Sunday 4th February, scheduled to allow maximum exposure with no Sunday grades playing that day.  Sunday One Day Grade Grand finals finishing before multi-format grade semi-finals to provide the best exposure for all competing clubs. A double header T20 round as the conclusion to the first half of the season and the Xmas break (Saturday 16th December), returning with double header T20’s after Xmas (6th & 7th January) during peak BBL season which is intended to leverage public attention and attract the community to local cricket whilst on holidays and cricket is forefront of the sporting calendar.

Women's cricket in Season 2017/18

Work continues in the background to set up a Women's competition in CSB for the coming summer, inclusive of the support, and clubs from SECA. Following a recent forum for those interested clubs a Women's Cricket Advisory Group has been established and will continue the roll out of the program presented at the recent Cricket Southern Bayside AGM.

Brighton District New Pavilion Opens



Brighton District’s new pavilion at Dendy Park is now open sporting female friendly change rooms, umpire and first aid rooms, increased storage and a new social area. The pavilion provides great access to the main turf wicket area which has also undergone renovation. The facility will provide an excellent experience for teams visiting Dendy Park this summer.

Also underway are new pavilions at Beaumaris and Cheltenham, with work to commence this summer on the pavilions at Gerry Green Reserve Parkdale and Castlefield Reserve.
