FAQs

How old do I need to be to play?

The All Girls Cricket Competition has four age groups - Under 12 & Under 14 (Wednesday games) Under 16 (Sunday games) & Under 18 (Tuesday games). The age cut off date is 1st September.

Do I need experience?

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join although the following will give an indication of the experience required:

●      You may have been playing backyard cricket with siblings and/or friends

●      You may have gone through the Blaster programs and be ready for the next step

●      You may be playing Club cricket already

●      You may be playing at school and want to play Club cricket

●      NOTE: If you would like to start playing cricket, please contact your local club to find out about their Junior and Master Blaster programs.

When will the season start?

Under 12 & Under 14 (Wednesday games)

Pre Christmas dates: 15 October 2025 to 17 December 2025

Post Christmas dates: 21 January 2026 to 11 March 2026*

Under 16 (Sunday games)

Pre Christmas dates: 12 October 2025 to 14 December 2026 (No game 2 November 2025)

Post Christmas dates: 18 January 2025 to 15 March 2026* (No game 25 January 2026)

Under 18 (Tuesday games)

Pre Christmas dates: 21 October 2025 to 16 December 2026 (No game 4 November 2025)

Post Christmas dates: 20 January 2025 to 10 March 2026*

*Finals series dates included

Where will the games be played?

The games will be played as a home and away fixture. The grounds for the competition will be determined before the season commences.

What will be the format of the games?

18 overs each team

Under 12 Wednesday games – Stage 1

20 overs each team

Under 14 Wednesday games – Stage 1 and Stage 2

Under 16 Sunday games – Stage 2 and Stage 3

Under 18 Tuesday games - Stage 3

*Season 2016/17 saw the introduction of Cricket Australia’s new modified playing rules across the Under 14 competition. The main goal of the AGCC is to ensure all players get the opportunity to bat, bowl and field during each game

What league is the All Girls Cricket Competition apart of?

CSB (Cricket Southern Bayside) runs the All Girls Cricket Competition. CSB along with the All Girls Cricket Competition Management Committee will be responsible for the management of the competition including fixtures, rules, promotion etc.

If my current club doesn’t have a girls team does this matter?

NO. You are welcome to play with one of the participating Clubs as well as continue with your current Club. This competition is an All Girls Competition and we anticipate over the coming years more and more Clubs will register a side. All ISEC and SECA clubs are aware of the AGCC.
